Job Description

Setlog is a camera-first app for sharing everyday moments and staying close with friends. We’re building a more playful way to keep up with the people you care about and capture everyday life together. Today, Setlog has millions of daily users across East Asia, with our largest communities in Japan and South Korea. East Asia remains our core market as we begin bringing the product to the US. We’re looking for a Product Designer who can help define, design, and ship the future of Setlog.

What you’ll do

• Own design across core product experiences, from early ideas through polished, shipped work.

• Work closely with the founder and engineering team to shape product direction and make strong product decisions.

• Turn ambiguous problems, user feedback, and emerging opportunities into simple, thoughtful experiences.

• Design interactions, flows, visual systems, and prototypes that make everyday communication feel more natural, expressive, and fun.

• Balance speed with care, knowing when to explore broadly and when to make a clear decision and move.

We’re looking for someone who

• Has strong product design skills and a portfolio that shows excellent judgment.

• Thinks deeply about why people use products and how small decisions shape behavior, connection, and retention.

• Is highly responsive, proactive, and eager to take ownership of what they create.

• Is comfortable working in ambiguity, adapting quickly as priorities and ideas evolve.

• Can zoom out to understand the larger product and company direction while also obsessing over the details that make an experience great.

• Brings original ideas, articulates them clearly, and can turn them into high-quality execution.

• Works well in a very small team, where everyone contributes beyond a narrow job description.

• Wants to help shape a consumer product at an early stage, where almost anything is still possible.

Location

• New York City preferred.

• We are currently remote-flexible, HQ is in NYC.

Compensation

• Salary + equity.
