Our client, a global multi-strategy focused hedge fund, is looking to expand their broader Trade Support team.

This function sits within the Operations, providing coverage for trading activity spanning numerous clients and product types. The focus of this position is making certain that trades and the events that follow them throughout their lifecycle are logged correctly, fully and without delay, and that Portfolio Managers receive hands-on operational backing whenever they need it. The person in this seat contributes directly to the integrity of risk and P&L figures by reinforcing sound operational controls.

Main Responsibilities

Booking Trades and Managing Their Lifecycle

• Watch trading flow throughout the session to confirm nothing is missed or mis-booked.
\n
• Log trades from both voice and electronic execution channels into the relevant systems.
\n
• Stay aligned with regulatory obligations and internal booking standards.
\n

Maintaining Reference Data

\n
• Review and refresh instrument-level reference data on an ongoing basis.
\n
• Lead the setup process when new clients, traders or funds come on board.
\n
• Protect data quality in ways that keep straight-through processing running smoothly.
\n

Matching Trades and Positions

\n
• Compare internal books against counterparty records each day.
\n
• Track down the source of any breaks or mismatches and resolve them without delay.
\n

Supporting Same-Day Estimates and Portfolio Managers

\n
• Help put together, review and circulate same-day estimate figures for Portfolio Managers and funds.
\n
• Develop a solid grasp of how various products behave across their lifecycle — both cash and market value — and how that ultimately shows up in P&L.
\n
• Draw on that knowledge to give Portfolio Managers fast, reliable answers, escalating or researching further as situations require.
\n

Driving Improvements and Supporting Projects

• Take part in onboarding efforts tied to new business, including new traders and new products.
\n
• Look for ways to make workflows and systems more efficient, and help carry those changes through.
\n
• Assist with documenting procedures, reducing operational risk, and reviewing past incidents.
\n
• Play a role in coaching and developing colleagues on the team.
\n

Coordinating Across the Business

\n
• Function as a connector between execution traders, portfolio managers and clients.
\n
